The Foundational Leadership Alumni Group (FLAG) is inviting the Queen’s community to its inaugural professional development event: a free webinar to equip leaders for motivating their teams through tough times. Maintaining Team Motivation through the Troughs will be held over Zoom on Aug. 25 from 11 am to noon.

The session is being led by Dane Jensen, CEO of Third Factor and an expert on strategy, leadership, and resilience under pressure.

The session will provide practical insights that can be applied during this time of transition, as the university plans to resume in-person activity at the Kingston campus under the guidelines provided in the Campus Re-opening Framework.

Jensen brings his lessons to life by drawing on stories from coaches and athletes who have led their teams through adversity, including:

  • a soccer captain whose team finished last at the World Cup
  • an Olympic hockey team that came together in the face of unprecedented adversity
  • an NBA coach with a masterful system for relationship building
  • an Olympic rower who attributes his team’s silver medal to a shared purpose, and more

Participants will leave with a clear sense of how to use negative emotion, relationships, progress, and meaning to fight the pull of disillusionment under uncertainty.

FLAG is an alumni community of the Foundational Leadership Program at Queen's University committed to connection, learning, and growth. Employees interested in growing as leaders are welcome - whether or not they have completed the Foundational Leadership Program.
