Arthur B. McDonald Prize for Academic Excellence

Valued at $15,000 for Masters students and $30,000 for PhD students who will be entering their first year of study in 2020-2021. This is a non-renewable award.

All students who apply to the Canada Graduate Scholarships - Masters (CGS-M) or Canada Graduate Scholarships - Doctoral (CGS-PhD) and list Queen's as a host institution are automatically considered for the Arthur B. McDonald Prize for Academic Excellence. APPLICATIONS ARE REQUIRED FROM STUDENTS WHO DO NOT FALL INTO THIS CATEGORY.   CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS AND APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR 2019-2020

Who is eligible to apply?

Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada  
Applicants who have achieved a first-class average (equivalent to an A- or better at Queen’s), in each of the last two completed years of study (full-time equivalent).

Canada Graduate Scholarship- Masters (CGS M) Competition

Guidelines and complete instructions for the 2020-2021 Canada Graduate Scholarships –Master’s (CGS M) competition are now available from this website

The online Canadian Common CV (CCV) and the online “Research Portal” application for the 2020-2021 CGS M competition are accessed from this website.

Clicking on the above links will take you to websites displaying the NSERC banner and logo, but this is the procedure and information for CGS M applications to all three funding agencies: CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC.

Conference Travel Awards Application Form (Word, 33kB)
Call for applications is only sent out twice a year – September for Fall term conferences and February for Winter and Summer term conferences. You must be presenting in order to be considered for an award. Even if you think you will be applying to present at a conference be sure to submit your application and supporting documents by appropriate deadline. Students may apply for this funding once during the academic year.

Ontario Graduate Scholarship Apply online through SGS website.

March 2, 2020 for both incoming and continuing Urban Planning MPL students.

GRAD STAFF DEADLINE:           PENDING but will likely be April 24, 2020

Ontario Graduate Scholarship International

Visa students: Foreign students who are studying in Ontario with a student study permit
are eligible to be put forward by their Queen's home Department for an OGS International Award.  The Department may put ONLY ONE STUDENT forward for this award through the annual internal fellowships competition held in late April/early May.  The student the Department selects will then be asked to apply online through the SGS website- PENDING.
