BAH GNDS 2016

“I returned to Queen’s in 2014 to finish my undergraduate degree in Gender Studies as a mature student. Faculty and staff in GNDS were instrumental in easing the transition back to formal studies after several years away from the university. My classes in Gender Studies helped to contextualize my unease with some of the practices I was observing in my career in the non-profit sector and gave me the language to critically engage with the injustices I was witnessing and experiencing in my life.

Since completing my degree in 2016 I have spent time working in non-profit management, funding and grant oversight, and university administration. I also enjoy volunteering with the Ban Righ Foundation for Women’s Continuing Education and Reelout Queer Film Festival as a member of their Boards of Directors. I am delighted to be returning to Gender Studies again as the Undergraduate Assistant."
