The Mayor's Innovation Challenge provides a unique opportunity for current or recently graduated post-secondary students, to apply their knowledge to real-world issues and help shape the future of Kingston.

Shad is a month-long program for grade 10 & 11s. DDQIC and Queen's University participate as campus partners providing classrooms, university level STEAM and entrepreneurship content, and access to mentors.

DDQIC and Connections Engineering Outreach have teamed up with Queen's Enrichment Studies to provide a Spring Break program that exposes youth to engineering, design, presentation skills, entrepreneurship, and more. Youth design and pitch their own mobile application to better the world! Youth learn and apply the Design Thinking method and how innovation and change is shaping the world and Queen’s University.

Tours
Take a tour of the Rose Innovation Hub and SparQ Studios Makerspace, and hear from first-time founders. Learn stories of young people who are building businesses, prototyping their ideas, and solving the world's pressing problems.
Workshops
We provide youth workshops on Design Thinking, Pitching, Prototyping, and more. Youth receive a hands-on experience and sharpen their skills for innovation and problem-solving.
