As part of the Free Seminar Series of the Master’s Program in Portuguese as a Non-Native Language at the School of Languages, Arts and Human Sciences (ELACH - Escola de Línguas, Artes e Ciências Humanas) at the University of Minho (Portugal), António Macedo delivered a seminar entitled “Practical Workshop on Intercultural Communication” on 16 April.
Through a practical and reflective approach, the workshop invited participants to consider how values, cultural references, expectations, and interaction styles shape communication across cultures. The session encouraged discussion on the challenges and opportunities of intercultural encounters, highlighting the importance of awareness, empathy, and adaptability in increasingly diverse academic, professional, and social contexts.
