Economic Development

The economic development team supports the university’s mandate to embed itself in the region’s economy: to connect research, talent, infrastructure, and innovation at Queen’s to external partners (industry, government, not-for-profits) and to help accelerate commercialization and economic value creation. It acts as a “front‐door” for external stakeholders: helping them engage with Queen’s research, technical capabilities, talent, and facilities. It supports ecosystem development by working with regional economic development agencies and other ecosystem partners (e.g., the city, nearby colleges). aligned with regional strategies to strengthen regional innovation capacity, retain talent, and attract investment.
