Finding suitable storage solutions for your research data
Strong research data management (RDM) practices are required by funding agencies worldwide. In Canada, following the Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy launch in 2021, researchers are increasingly being asked to develop data management plans as part of grant applications and to deposit data that directly supports research conclusions into a repository.
A team from the Centre for Advanced Computing, IT Services, the Library, and the Vice-Principal Research worked together to develop a Research Data Storage Finder tool designed to help researchers identify and assess storage options and services based on their specific data needs.
This session will walk you through:
- Identifying available research data storage options for active, backup, and long-term storage
- Best practices in research data management-related to funder compliance requirements, as well as ethical, legal and commercial obligations
- Queen’s-based resources to support research data storage needs
Presenters:
- Meghan Goodchild, RDM Librarian, Queen's University Library
- Paige Beddoe, Associate Director, Research Engagement & Strategy, Centre for Advanced Computing
- Becky Pero, RDM Advisor, Vice-Principal Research Portfolio
- Tara Stellato, ITS
