The Government of Ontario declared a province-wide state of emergency under The Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act on March 17, 2020 to protect the health and safety of all Ontarians and to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus (or COVID-19). COVID-19 is easily spread by contact with droplets produced by people who have the virus.

In preparation for the return of live audiences this fall, the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts at and Queen’s University at Kingston (the University) has put in place measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19, however the University cannot guarantee that any individual attending the University property, using the University’s facilities, or participating in activities or events organized by the University, whether on-campus or off-campus will not become infected with COVID-19. Accordingly, all audience members are required to adhere to COVID-19 protocol, including but not limited to wearing a mask covering the nose, mouth, and chin, social distancing of 6 feet, handwashing, and not attending an in-person concert if ill or if the audience member has travelled internationally over the past 14 days. Any audience member not adhering to the prescribed COVID-19 protocol will be asked to leave the premises.

Beginning September 7, 2021, as per the Provincial and Queen’s University policies, all visitors to the Isabel MUST be fully vaccinated. Please bring your proof of vaccination and photo ID to access the Isabel.

Face masks and physical distancing continues to be required when in the building.

For clarity, we will be unable to admit anyone without proof of vaccination, photo ID, and a face mask, nor we be able to admit guests exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. Your documents will be checked upon entering the Isabel.

For more information, please see the side bar on the right side of this website.

WHAT THE ISABEL IS DOING:

VACCINATION REQUIRED

As per the Provincial and Queen’s University policies, all staff, volunteers, faculty, students, and visitors to the Isabel MUST be fully vaccinated in accordance with Provincial requirements. We can verify that all our staff and volunteers you will interact with have received their full vaccination against COVID-19.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

  • HALL CAPACITY: Capacities within the Isabel will be monitored to ensure everyone’s ability to maintain safe distances and in accordance with provincial guidelines. We have increased our capacity to around 200 seats while maintaining an empty seat between each of the available seats.
  • REDUCING CONGREGATING: To reduce congregating and follow best practices, we will not be offering any coat check services, food and beverage, or merchandise sales at this time.
  • NO INTERMISSION: The format of our programming will no longer offer an intermission at this point.
  • YOUR SCHEDULED ARRIVAL TIME: Your ticket corresponds to a dedicated arrival time to allow us to stagger the amount of people entering the hall at once.
  • YOUR EXIT TIME: We will call out the rows for audience members to leave in a sequential basis to avoid congregating. We will make use of different building exits to reduce gathering in common areas.
