DAN School Faculty in the Community

Many DSDM faculty are connected to local arts organizations and this concert features four such groups: The Brockville Community Choir, King’s DON Taiko (Japanese Taiko drumming), the Kingston Baroque Consort and The Martello Alley Cats (a cool combo of jazz vocalists and instrumentalists).

This will certainly be one of the most varied and diverse presentations to be heard in Kingston in a long time and is sure to be inspiring, especially when everyone combines at the end to perform Christopher Tin’s main theme from Civilization VI. While most groups will be presenting a selection of different music, the Kingston Baroque Consort will be performing movements from J.S. Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, one of his most popular works that includes the famous Air on a G String.

Founded in 2013 by percussionist Kyoko Ogoda, King’s DON Taiko is dedicated to playing and teaching Japanese Taiko drumming in Kingston while connecting to the global Taiko community. Kings Don Taiko

Made up of eleven singers and instrumentalists, The Martello Alley Cats have been entertaining Kingston with their cool combo of jazz vocals and instrumentals since 2018. Find out more about our upcoming performances at: The Martello Alley Cats

The Brockville Community Choir is a group of volunteer vocalists of all ages dedicated to performing classical and contemporary repertoire in Brockville and the surrounding area. In doing so it seeks to contribute to the community’s cultural wellbeing.
