Experience the power of music in motion. Orchestral Dances brings the musicians of the Kingston Youth Orchestra together on stage with dancers from the Kingston School of Dance for an electrifying evening of live orchestral music and original choreography. The centerpiece of the performance is the world premiere of To Dream, a newly commissioned orchestral work by composer Karen Locklin, fully choreographed by Kay Kenney. This immersive collaboration transforms sound into movement, inviting audiences into a vivid, dream-inspired world.

This landmark production marks the first-ever collaboration between KYO and KSD, uniting some of Kingston’s most talented young musicians and dancers under the direction of conductor Hugh Johnston and choreographer Kay Kenney, with additional choreography by Lauren Runions and Shirley Schram. The evening concludes with performances by the Youth Orchestra, Youth Strings, and A-Strings, building toward a high-energy grand finale where orchestra and dancers come together on stage in a joyful celebration of artistry and youth.
