In the last of our visiting speakers' series, the Department of English invites you to Atesede Makonne's talk entitled "'I saw Othello’s visage in his mind': Visualizing Othello in Nineteenth-Century British Theatre" on Monday, January 24th at 2pm. 

A little more about our speaker: Atesede Makonnen's current research focuses on visualizations of blackness in nineteenth-century British culture. Her work has been published in European Romantic Review, Symbiosis: Transatlantic Literary & Cultural Relations, Shakespeare, and the Keats-Shelley Journal. Her teaching covers nineteenth-century literature, critical race studies, and pop-culture.
