This course introduces students to creative writing in a variety of forms and genres. Specific topics vary, this year we will be offering two sections. 

  • 001 - Introduction to Poetry
  • 002 - Introduction to Prose

Prerequisites

  • CWRI 281-001 (Introduction to Poetry) students are asked to submit five poems (no rhyming poems) of varying lengths and a brief statement about yourself, indicating why they would like to write poetry. Those selected will be contacted by email prior to the first class. Students are strongly advised to make an alternative course selection. Portfolios should be sent to armand.ruffo@queensu.ca
  • CWRI 281 – 002 (Introduction to Prose) students are asked to write a submission of either prose, or a short story and a cover letter and submit englishdept@queensu.ca. Please include your student number when submitting your writing.  Please note we are reviewing submissions and hope to let students know if they are approved to enroll in the course soon.
