About this Event

Join us to learn the basics of startup angel investing.

Raising capital (money) for your new business venture can be challenging, time-consuming, and confusing for first-time founders. Presented by the Southeastern Ontario Angel Network and hosted by Queen's Partnerships and Innovation, you will learn the basics of startup angel investing, from the odds of landing on an angel investor, to the key players and common terminology in this space during this presentation.

About SOAN

The Southeastern Ontario Angel Network (SOAN) has been created to facilitate the mobilization of investments from accredited investors into companies being developed in southeastern Ontario. This Network is closely associated with our regional innovation centre, local economic development agencies, research institutions, the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs and other recognized angel networks in Ontario, Canada and the US. The Southeastern Ontario Angel Network is a not-for-profit corporation, recognized by and registered with Angel Investors Ontario.

SOAN was recognized by the National Angel Capital Organization as number three in Canada for the dollar amount invested in 2017. And among the "young" angel networks (5 years or less) SOAN is ranked first in Canada for the dollar amount invested and fourth for the number of investments made. Thank you to everyone who has been part of SOAN's growth!
