Research Interests

Her research interests primarily revolve around the local and global nexus, with past and current projects on Indigeneity in diaspora, Indigenous politics, Cordillera politics and policy, and the comparative and local dimensions of international relations in Southeast Asia. She is also interested in Global International Relations and democratizing foreign policy.

Biography

Karin Shana Codiase Bangsoy is an Indigenous Igorot (Kankanaey-Ibaloi) Filipino teacher and researcher. Before entering Queen's as a doctoral student, she previously taught political science courses as a faculty member at the University of the Philippines Baguio, focusing on courses in international relations, comparative politics of East and Southeast Asia, and political thought.
