Strong research data management practices are increasingly important. Funding agencies in Canada and worldwide now expect researchers to develop data management plans and ensure that data is stored safely for both the short and long term.

To support the Queen’s research community, the Research Data Storage Finder (RDSF) is now available. This self-service, interactive tool helps researchers identify and compare storage options for active, backup, and long-term data management. Created in partnership by the Vice-Principal Research (VPR), the Centre for Advanced Computing, Queen’s Library, and IT Services, the RDSF aligns with best practices in data management and supports compliance with funder requirements, as well as ethical, legal, and commercial obligations.

On March 18, 2025, the VPR hosted the above online session to guide participants through available storage options, highlighted best practices in research data management related to compliance and ethics, and introduced Queen’s-based resources to support research data storage needs.
