Art History

The Department of Art offers courses, Plans and Programs in several subjects. At the undergraduate level, the Department of Art offers courses and Plans in Art History, as one component of a B.A. or B.A.(Honours) program.

In first year, students will explore a chronological sequence of art works from antiquity to the modern era in the West; in upper years students can choose from a wide range of specialized courses focusing on particular periods or themes. The learning environment on campus is enhanced by Ontario’s third-largest art gallery, the Agnes Etherington Art Centre, as well as the thriving student-run Union Gallery. Students can participate in trips to museums in the major art centres of Canada and the northeastern U.S.
