With courses from two Queen's Faculties - the Faculty of Health Science and the Faculty of Arts and Science - Life Sciences is one of the most requested programs at Queen's. You can look forward to a variety of exciting career options or further study in the health science. It should be noted, however, that admission requirements to medical or dental school vary considerably, and the Life Sciences program is not intended to provide the preferred route to these schools.
The strength of our program lies in the integration of basic health sciences founded on a core of natural and physical science courses. Much emphasis in upper-year courses is placed on laboratory experiences. Electives in humanities, languages and social sciences provide the flexibility to choose from a number of different options after graduation.
High School Background Required
- 4U Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, and Chemistry or recognized equivalents required;
- 4U Biology and Physics or recognized equivalents recommended
Life After Graduation
- Graduate studies/research
- Pharmaceutical industry/government
- Hospital or health administration
- Dentistry/optometry/medicine
