Courses listed under the following course codes are available to first year students in Arts and Science. Most are at the 100-level, though there are a few at the P-level, and some upper-year (200+) courses are available to students with advanced standing, particularly in the languages. Each course will give you details of why you might choose it, how it may act as a prerequisite for upper-year courses, and any enrolment restrictions or special instructions. Note that not all first-year courses listed in the calendar are given here. Any that are omitted are either correspondence courses, which are not recommended for first-year students, or are designed specially as electives for upper-year students.
