Video Backgrounds

The university has created custom Queen’s backgrounds that can be downloaded to add a bit of Tricolour spirit to your Zoom and Microsoft Teams video calls.

Download these custom backgrounds for your next Zoom virtual meeting, online class, or meetup with friends.

  • Click on an image to see the Zoom-sized version.
  • Right-click on the image and select "Save image as" to save it to your desktop

Set a new background in Zoom

  • Launch Zoom from the app or your browser
  • Click on the small gear symbol in the top-right corner of the home screen to open the settings
  • Select “Virtual Background”
  • Click on the “+” sign to the right of the words “Choose a Virtual Background”
  • You will be prompted to upload your image and it will appear behind you in your video meeting.
  • The image will remain as your background for future meetings until you change it; it will also be saved in your background photo options

Set a new background in Microsoft Teams

Change your background before a meeting starts

  1. While you're setting up your video and audio before joining a meeting, turn you video on and select Background filters.
  2. Select Add new and then select the downloaded image to upload from your computer.

Change your background during a meeting

  1. Go to your meeting controls and select More actions (…)  > Apply background effects.
  2. Select Add new and choose the downloaded image to upload from your computer.
  3. Select Preview to see how your chosen background looks before you apply it, and then select Apply.
