Dr. Dolleen Manning will be joining the Department of Philosophy and the Cultural Studies Program at Queen’s on September 1st.

Dolleen Tisawii’ashii Manning is a member of Kettle and Stoney Point First Nation and is an interdisciplinary artist and scholar.  She is coming to us from a postdoctoral fellowship at Michigan State University and an appointment as an Assistant Professor at York University.  Dr. Manning has wide-ranging interests in Anishinaabe ontology, critical theory, phenomenology, and art, and questions of imaging practices, epistemological sovereignty, and the debilitating impact of settler colonial logics.  She has published widely and has an impressive corpus of artistic work.

Dr. Manning has a superb record as an accomplished scholar, artist, teacher, engaged community member and colleague and will be a wonderful addition to our philosophical community and to Queen’s.  We are looking forward to her joining us, and  Dr. Manning has expressed her great excitement about coming to Queen’s.
