1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Location

STI AUD
Event Category

Marcela Carena,
Executive Director, Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics

Abstract:

Prof. Carena will give a special colloquium in the form of a chalk talk where she will discuss her recent research along a few different lines, with major themes of:

  • Electroweak phase transitions as the potential origin of matter-antimatter asymmetry in the early universe, including theoretical inputs like bubble wall velocities to test predictions;
  • Linking predictions from particle theory to gravitational wave signatures;
  • Incorporating quantum methods and quantum computing to simulate processes in early universe physics.

Timbits, coffee, tea will be served in STI AUD before the colloquium.
