Alumni Volunteer Summit 2023

Alumni Volunteer Summit (AVS) 2023 is the perfect opportunity for Queen’s alumni volunteers to expand their network, connect and reconnect, with other experienced volunteer leaders. 

Start your weekend by connecting with the Queen’s University Alumni Association (QUAA) Board of Directors and fellow alumni at The Grad Club for an informal social on Friday, June 16 at 6:30 pm.

AVS will begin on Saturday, June 17 in Ellis Hall at 8 am. Throughout the day, you will hear from a panel of student leaders, keynote speakers, and Vice-Principal Bertrand all while reconnecting and sharing best practices across volunteer roles. 

AVS will wrap up at 4 pm leaving time for you to get ready to celebrate the 2023 QUAA Gala Award recipients at the 2023 Awards Gala. Be sure to register for the 2023 QUAA Awards Gala so you don't miss out on this exciting celebration of alumni accomplishments. 


Schedule 

Time Details
8 - 8:45 am Registration. Coffee, tea, water and snacks will be served.
8:45 - 9 am Welcome and introductions with Tuba Chishti, QUAA Director of AVS.
9 - 10 am Keynote address with Ann Tierney, Dean of Student Affairs.
10 - 10:30 am Break. Coffee, tea, water and snacks will be served.
10:30 - 11:30 am Student panel discussion.
11:30 - 11:45 am Group photo.
11:45 am - 12:45 pm Lunch.
12:45 - 1:40 pm Address and Q&A with VP Advancement, Karen Bertrand.
1:45 - 2 pm Break. Coffee, tea, water, and snacks will be served.
2 - 3:30 pm Breakout sessions.
3:30 - 4 pm Closing with Colin McLeod, QUAA President.

Accommodations

Reconnect with your student experience and enjoy staying at Brant House residence where a block of rooms has been held for Alumni Volunteer Summit attendees.

To reserve your spot at Brant House, please contact Event Services and mention you wish to book under the QUAA block held for June 16 - 18. Enjoy this unique opportunity for $129 (plus taxes) a night for a two bedroom unit. You may cancel up to 24 hours prior to arrival. Check-in is 3 pm and check-out is 11 am. The check-in desk located at 156 Albert Street. Parking is available at Tindall Field. Parking is free on evenings and weekends.
