The Department of Medicine presents visiting lecturer, Dr. Ashkan Shoamanesh for the Henry B. Dinsdale Visiting Lectureship. In this lecture, Shoamanesh will present the topic "Management of patients with atrial fibrillation and intracerebral hemorrhage.” This lecture will take place in person with a virtual option on Zoom.
Dr. Shoamanesh is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Division of Neurology) and a stroke neurologist at McMaster University, where he holds the Marta and Owen Boris Chair in Stroke Research and Care. He is the founding director of the Hemorrhagic Stroke Research Program and a senior scientist at the affiliated Population Health Research Institute in Hamilton, Canada. Dr. Shoamanesh has published over 160 manuscripts in leading scientific journals and serves on the editorial boards of Stroke, International Journal of Stroke, and Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences. His contributions to stroke research and leadership in the field have been recognized by the most prestigious early and mid career awards in stroke granted by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, American Heart/Stroke Association, American Academy of Neurology, and European stroke.

The Henry B. Dinsdale Visiting Lectureship Fund was established by the Department of Medicine along with gifts from family, friends, and colleagues, to honour Dr. Henry B. Dinsdale, Meds'55, to bring prominent speakers on topics related to neurological diseases or medical leadership to the Department of Medicine.
