Advancing Equity in Cancer Care: Research, Practice, and the Role of Nursing

Join us for a hybrid talk featuring Dr. Tara Horrill—Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Manitoba and founder of the REACHE Lab.

Dr. Horrill will explore barriers in the cancer-care system—emphasizing access and patient-centred approaches—and share collaborative, evidence-informed strategies for clinicians, researchers, health-system leaders, and patient partners.

Dr. Tara Horrill is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Manitoba, a scientist at the Paul Albrechtsen Research Institute, CancerCare Manitoba, and the founder and principal investigator of the REACHE Lab.

Her research takes a critical approach to investigating health inequities within the cancer-care system, with a particular focus on equitable access to care and equity-oriented approaches. Through collaborative research, education, and knowledge mobilization initiatives, Dr. Horrill works with interdisciplinary researchers, health-care practitioners, health-system leaders, and patient partners to co-create evidence-informed solutions that address health inequities across the cancer-care sector.
