Civil Engineering students hold program guides to studying engineering.

Civil Engineering Open House

Join the Department of Civil Engineering for an open house at Ellis Hall. This all-ages event is an opportunity to learn what's new with the department and the university, reconnect with former classmates, and meet current students. Please register so we can anticipate who's coming, however, alumni may enjoy the open house day-of without registration.

Completed in 1958, Ellis Hall has long been the home of the Department of Civil Engineering and of the Queen's Observatory, which is located on the roof. Ellis Hall was constructed to help alleviate the extreme pressure on the Faculty of Engineering which was the result of a huge increase in the demand for scientific courses at Queen's after the war.

Please meet at the main doors of Ellis Hall. Ellis Hall is accessible to all mobility types. For inquiries or accommodations, please contact Sarah Chapman, Communications and Events Officer.
