Queen's University Homecoming, United by Moments

More Than 2,400 Register for Queen’s Virtual Homecoming

Our virtual Queen’s Homecoming 2021 celebration was a massive success!

Homecoming 2021 consisted of four days, seven virtual stages, 21 sessions, 38 reunions, 40 expo booths, and more than 2,400 registrants.

Registration totals far surpassed last year’s numbers as alumni from around the world gathered online to connect with old classmates, faculty and housemates. Alumni from 37 countries and regions from around the globe took part, representing Bahrain, Jordan, Germany, Japan, Kenya, Switzerland, Bolivia, Israel and more.

Homecoming programming took place from Oct. 14-16 with some reunions wrapping up on Oct. 17. Programming included massive mainstage events, more intimate faculty sessions, on-demand content, and reunions, including Reunion Zero’s popular mixology workshop.

Our mainstage events were led by co-hosts Shelagh Rogers, Artsci’77, LLD'19, and Rico Garcia, Artsci’13, and featured a variety of special guests including Principal Patrick Deane, Chancellor Murray Sinclair, our very own Queen’s band, Jay Smith and our headline musical act, Juno Award winner, William Prince.

The most popular events were:

  • Mainstage events
  • Smith Connect
  • ViRitual
  • Queen’s Gaels (football livestream)
  • Last Lecture on Earth with Dean Crow

You can watch recordings of the events on our YouTube Homecoming 2021 playlist

The average attendee stayed on our virtual Homecoming platform and participated in events and booths for more than three hours.

We appreciate our alumni and attendees for celebrating with us and sharing experiences and memories on social media throughout the Homecoming weekend by tagging us or using #QueensHomecoming and #QueensuDay.

We also want to extend a warm welcome to the Class of 2021 – we hope you enjoyed your first Homecoming as part of our alumni community. Our connection doesn't stop here – we want to support you in your transition from the student world to the alumni network, so please expect a call from us in the coming weeks.

See you next year, Cha Gheill!
