Art Conservation program founder appointed to the Order of Canada

Ian Hodkinson, founder of Queen's University's Art Conservation program, has been appointed to the Order of Canada. Alongside Queen's alumna Moira Hutchinson (Arts'64, M.A.'68) and Queen's supporter R. Jamie Anderson, Hodkinson was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada in recognition of "his pioneering and extensive contributions to the preservation and conservation of Canada's cultural heritage."

Open Art Histories Pedagogy Institute comes to campus

From June 16-18, 2022, Open Art Histories will hold its Summer Pedagogy Institute at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre and Union Gallery.

The Institute brings together educators from various disciplines, examining important pedagogical issues, strategies for increasing arts education's accessibility and diversity, and methods of putting these concepts into practice.

Please join us for a pre-convocation reception on June 21, 11:00am to 12:30pm in Ontario Hall, room 323. Friends and family are welcome; light refreshments will be provided.

The 2022 Convocation Ceremony for Art Conservation (M.A.C.) and Art History (Ph.D., M.A., B.A.H, B.A.) is scheduled for Tuesday, June 21 at 3pm at the Leon's Centre. Graduate arrival time is two  hours (2) prior to the ceremony, or 1:00pm. Guest seating limit is two (2) per graduate. Spring convocation ceremonies will also be livestreamed starting 15 minutes prior to each event.
