Danielle Lussier is recognized with the Order of Ontario for her contributions to legal and post-secondary education

Danielle Lussier was appointed a Queen’s National Scholar in 2024 and aims to contribute to establishing an independent Indigenous Knowledges and Perspectives program at Queen’s, building on the work of other Indigenous faculty and notable alumni.

SPAN111 Students Experience Mexican Culture Through Dance and Día de los Muertos Celebration

In early November, students in SPAN111 Sections 005 and 006 were treated to a special cultural experience when two dancers from the Mexican Folk Ballet Company in Toronto visited our class. This renowned Mexican dance company, established in Toronto, aims to share and preserve the rich history, culture, art, and spirit of Mexico through dance.

Portuguese Course Dinner - Current and past students of Beginning Portuguese get together to socialize over Portuguese gastronomy

Being a university student in Portugal, you would most certainly be invited to participate in a class or course dinner. This is an event which allows people within a certain group to socialize outside of the otherwise formal school or class setting, having conversations, interacting and sharing experiences, while having a meal and drink at a cheaper group price.

Werner Nell speaks on "Identity and the Identitarian Trap in present-day German Discourse"

On Wednesday, November 13, Professor Werner Nell of Martin-Luther-Universität in Halle, Germany spoke at the LLCU Faculty Seminar. Dr. Nell’s illustrious and international career involves a long-time collaboration with Queen’s, including in 2024 as “Scholar in Residence” at the Global History Initiative and in 2017 as Diefenbaker Chair. He has been affiliated to the faculty team since 2008.
