PhD student Arjun Sawhney wins the 2020-21 Professor Frank Pearce Essay Prize

PhD student Arjun Sawhney has won the 2020-21 Professor Frank Pearce Essay Prize, awarded annually to a graduate student from the departments of Sociology, Political Studies, Geography, Philosophy or Cultural Studies with the best essay on the topic of radical critical theory and social justice. The prize includes an award of $1,500. Congratulations, Arjun!

The interdisciplinary project, “Toppling Monuments: Colonial Trauma, Justice, Heritage, and Restorative Healing”, was awarded funding from the New Frontiers in Research Fund’s (NFRF) 2020 Exploration competition, a program that encourages scholars to take risks, and that fosters discoveries and innovations that could have significant impacts on our world.
