Meet Daryn Lehoux

In the past two years, the Department of Philosophy has added three permanent faculty: Daryn Lehoux, Lisa Guenther, and Elliot Paul. He's been in the Classics Department at Queen's for a decade, but now has a joint appointment with Philosophy.

BBK blog series by Lisa Guenther

In a two-part series, philosopher Lisa Guenther introduces the Prison for Women in Kingston, Ontario and how its history – as the former home of hundreds of incarcerated women, and the site of unethical human experiments and other forms of prisoner abuse — is woven into the civic life of Kingston, raising challenging questions about the future of the property.

Michael Tremblay interviewed on CBC's Ideas

PhD student Michael Tremblay was interviewed on Ideas on CBC radio. Ideas is focusing on some interesting Canadian PhD students, and were keen to interview Michael both for his research on the Stoics and for his impressive achievements on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Michael explicitly connects the two:  "Epictetus says explicitly that philosophy is like wrestling." As for philosophers, wrestlers improve by continually challenging themselves, and confronting strong opponents.
