Executive Director of Risk and Safety Services, Kim Murphy, is very pleased to announce that Chris Scott has been appointed to the role of Director, Campus Security and Emergency Services effective November 20, 2023.  

Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience that makes him a wonderful addition to our team. With over thirty years’ experience as a law enforcement leader, Chris’ impressive career includes notable roles with the Kingston Police since 1998, where he progressed to leadership roles with increasing level of responsibility and retired in 2021 having reached the position of Deputy Chief of Police.

With a reputation as a humble, capable, and collaborative leader, Chris brings extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system, community engagement practices, and emergency management. He possesses strong investigative skills and is well versed on contemporary best practices in community safety and well-being.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Chris has actively engaged with the Kingston community, serving as Vice Chair for Kingston Limestone Habitat for Humanity, Program Advisor for Boys and Girls Club Kingston, and Board Member for Big Brothers Big Sisters Kingston, among other roles.

With his extensive experience, leadership, and commitment to community engagement, I am confident that Chris will be a valuable asset in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our campus community.

I would also like to extend my thanks to Joel Keenleyside who provided leadership in his role as Acting Director during the search process.
