Confined Space Assessments
This section provides access to confined space assessments conducted on campus. Please note that these assessments represent conditions observed at the time of the evaluation and do not replace the requirement to conduct a thorough hazard assessment prior to any entry into confined space. The information is organized into three categories:
- Confirmed Confined Space: Areas officially designated as confined spaces based on assessment criteria.
- Potential Confined Space: Areas that may be classified as confined spaces depending on current conditions or the nature of the work being performed. Hazards can vary, and the status of these spaces can change accordingly.
- Areas assessed which are not Confined Space: Areas assessed and determined not to meet the definition of a confined space.
This inventory may not be a complete list of Confined Spaces on campus, it's a living document that will be continuously updated based off changing conditions and the discover of new spaces which may meet the definition. If you have concerns about any space that is not listed or believe a space's status may have changed, please contact your supervisor and/or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) for guidance.
Always refer to the Confined Space Program for detailed procedures, safety protocols, and requirements before planning entry or work involving confined spaces. Adhering to the program ensures compliance with safety regulations and protects the health and safety of all personnel.
