The Queen’s Research Opportunities Funds (QROF) has three competitions that award researchers from across disciplines a chance to begin innovative projects and forge new collaborations with colleagues and scholars around the world.
These competitions help advance the objectives of the Strategic Framework and the Strategic Research Plan.
The QROF provides researchers and scholars financial support to accelerate their programs and research goals. The funds also offer an opportunity to leverage external funding to build on areas of institutional research strength.
Arts Fund / SIG
the Arts Fund program has been merged with the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council Institutional Grant (SIG) program.
Enhance areas of research excellence that are of strategic importance to the University by giving scholars an opportunity to accelerate their research programs.
The Catalyst Fund competition is not currently being offered at this time.
To both attract outstanding post-doctoral fellows to Queen’s and to support their contributions to research and the university.
Visiting Artist-in-Residence Fund
The objective of the Visiting Artist-in-Residence Fund is to enhance research creation through exchange between faculty at Queen’s University and the broader arts community.
All members of the Queen’s University community are encouraged to consider applying for these funds, including members from equity-seeking groups such as women, racialized/visible minorities, Indigenous peoples, persons with a disability, persons who identify in the LGBTQ+ community and others who reflect the diversity of Canadian society.
