Canada Day at the Castle

Herstmonceux Castle

On Saturday, July 1, 2023, we will be celebrating 30 years of Canada at the castle.

Why not come along and celebrate Canada Day 2023 at Herstmonceux Castle with family, friends, and the local community? The day will feature free family entertainment and have-a-go attractions, as well as workshops and displays by our faculty, staff, and some of our community partners. There will also be guided walking tours of both the castle and our beautiful grounds.

Wear your favourite Canadian sports jersey or anything predominantly red and white and join in with the day's activities, such as archery, falconry, a kids’ treasure hunt, and more.

Should you work up an appetite, Chestnuts Café will be serving up special castle cream teas with a Canadian twist – including butter tarts, Nanaimo bars, waffles, and of course, plenty of maple syrup! For mums and dads, we will also be opening the castle’s licensed cash bar – The Headless Drummer. What better way to celebrate Canada Day than at your favourite Canadian castle!

Please note: Normal entry prices apply to gain access to the Herstmonceux Castle Estate. We are a dog-friendly venue, but please ensure your dogs are kept on a leash at all times. View times and prices
