Guerrilla History Film Forum: Z screening

Kingston, ON

Enjoy a screening of Z (1969) directed by Costa-Gavras as part of the Guerrilla History Film Forum at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts.

Z is about the public murder of a prominent politician and doctor amid a violet demonstration which is covered up by military and government officials. A tenacious magistrate is determined not to let them get away with it.

The Guerrilla History Film Forum examines the struggle for equity and freedom and the forms this has taken globally. One crucial component of this history has been resistance to colonial violence and the legacies of racism. The films in the series engage these histories, make vivid the experiences of colonialism and the complexities of liberation struggle.  These films invite a conversation about the present path toward a future of global equality. The series will culminate with a forum for discussion of the movies with both film studies and history scholars and will air on YouTube and the Guerrilla History podcast

Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts is accessible for all mobility types.
