Join the Queen’s Toronto Alumni Branch on Thursday, Nov. 20, for a night of laughs featuring some of the funniest grads to ever have called Kingston home. This special showcase will bring together alumni and comedians for a night of sharp wit, shared nostalgia, and tricolour spirit! The evening will feature alumni comedians, Joze Piranian, Leonard Chan, Dena Jackson, Rachel Manson, Freddy Jan, Thea Rainford, and Jack Lawrence.

Due to overwhelming demand, we've added another time for the Tricolour Comedy Show at 9:30pm!

What to Know:

  • Tickets must be purchased directly on the Second City Toronto website. These are non-refundable and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • There are two performances - one at 7:30pm, and another that just opened at 9:30pm. Each show is roughly an hour and a half.

Featured Comedians:

Joze Piranian

Joze Piranian is a Beirut-born, Toronto-based comedian and global speaker. A lifelong stutterer, he has performed stand-up comedy in four languages across three continents and has delivered multiple TEDx talks. He’s appeared on Just For Laughs Toronto, in the Winnipeg and Halifax Comedy Festivals, CBC’s The Debaters, and Laugh Out Loud. His documentary, Words Left Unspoken, was nominated for three Canadian Screen Awards, and his book, Stop Holding Back: An Honest Guide to Turning Fear into Action, will be published nationwide by HarperCollins in January 2026.

Leonard Chan

Leonard Chan is a Toronto-based comedian and writer whose work spans stage, screen, and radio. As a comic, he’s been featured on CBC’s The Debaters, Laugh Out Loud, and SiriusXM, and performed at the Winnipeg and Halifax Comedy Festivals, StandUp NBC in New York, and Just For Laughs in Montreal. He’s also appeared as an on-air correspondent for This Hour Has 22 Minutes. As a writer, Leonard has contributed to Kim’s Convenience, Strays, Hello (Again), and 16 Hudson. He earned a Canadian Screen Award for producing and writing the 2022 Juno Awards hosted by Simu Liu and was nominated for his work on This Hour.

Dena Jackson

Dena Jackson is a comedian and keynote speaker whose work has been featured on CBC and The Beaverton. She’s performed at top festivals and clubs across North America, including Just for Laughs, the Winnipeg and New York comedy festivals, and Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club in Las Vegas. Her albums Blue Lights and Disenchanted hit #1 on the iTunes Comedy Charts and air regularly on SiriusXM.

Rachel Manson

Rachel Manson has toured internationally as a stand-up comedian for over a decade. She’s appeared on CBC Gem’s The New Wave of Stand Up, headlined Just for Laughs 42, performed at Just for Laughs Vancouver multiple years in a row, and performs regularly at festivals across North America. Rachel placed in the top 3 comics in NYC’s SheDevil and Devil Cup Comedy Competitions. Her debut album, 3rd Most Improved, was recorded at Second City Toronto and is available on Spotify.

Freddy Jan

Freddy Jan is a Toronto-based comic who draws on his Afro-Caribbean roots to explore life’s overlooked moments with dark, playful humour. He’s opened for Geoffrey Asmus and performed at major venues including Just for Laughs, Don’t Tell Comedy, and Tokyo Comedy Bar. 

Thea Rainford

Thea Rainford is a rising Toronto comedian known for her sharp wit and relatable observations about everyday life. She’s performed at The Nubian Comedy Revue, Absolute Comedy’s PYAC Competition, and countless open mics. Thea is quickly making a name for herself as one of Toronto’s exciting new voices in comedy.
