Ms. Campbell will lead a discussion with students about the opportunities and challenges that Canada is facing given the changing global economic landscape.  For Canada, a nation dependent on strong trading relationships, these include lowering trade barriers, developing new and diverse markets for Canadian goods and services, and maintaining a progressive and inclusive trade agenda to support the diversity of Canadian exporters and citizens. Dr. Campbell will also share her views on the trends and drivers of the global economy, including E-commerce, trading of virtual goods, and the impact of disruptive technologies.

Biography:
Ailish Campbell joined Global Affairs Canada as the Chief Trade Commissioner in March 2017. Previously she was General Director at Finance Canada and Vice President, Policy - International and Fiscal Issues, at the Business Council of Canada.  Ailish holds a BA (Honours) from Queen's University, a Master of Science, Economics (International Relations and International Political Economy) from the London School of Economics and a D. Phil in International Relations from the University of Oxford. In 2014 she was designated a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
