Paying it Forward

Elaine Wu, Artsci’97, Artsci’98, MIR’00, Law’03
Queen’s University Council Member

Queen’s has provided me with a fantastic education, a wealth of opportunities and experiences, and long-lasting friendships. I enjoyed my time as an undergrad so much that I stayed on to complete a joint Masters of Industrial Relations and Law degree, which is a unique degree offered at Queen’s.

Since graduation, I’ve stayed connected with the university as a volunteer and past president of the Queen’s Toronto Alumni Association and University Councillor. Through my work as a University Councillor, I’m able to see the impact all donations, regardless of the size, have on the operations of the university and, ultimately, how they directly benefit students.

As a student, I was fortunate to have received support from funds such as the Arts and Science Dean’s Student Initiative Fund which enabled me to have some of the most fulfilling experiences at Queen’s. I want to ensure students have the same chance to experience similar enriching experiences, which is why I donate to this fund every year. I hope the students who benefit from my giving today are able to pass it on and give back to Queen’s in turn.
