Elder Talk sessions are an opportunity to learn from our Cultural Advisor and explore Indigenous worldviews, with a safe space to ask questions after each session. Please come with a good mind and a willingness to listen and learn to all parts of the sessions.
Sessions will be hybrid in MacCorry E202 + Zoom, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. *Please note: while most sessions will be offered both online and in person, some sessions may be online only. On Wednesday morning, upon coming into the Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre, the Indigenous staff were met with disturbing stickers depicting residential school denialism which were placed on the entrances of both buildings. We have also been made aware of these stickers being placed in other areas on campus. The incident has been reported and is being investigated.

3rd Floor Lounge, Stirling Hall, 64 Bader LnOpening Event at the McDonald Institute at Queen’s University on the evening of July 27th at 5:30 PM, for the unveiling of a new mural in Stirling Hall by artists Will Morin and Quinn Hopkins.
The 18’ mural spans the width of the main foyer and is presented as both a physical installation and an interactive, Augmented Reality experience. The piece explores the past, present and future of Anishinaabe knowledge and astroparticle physics research.
There will be a catered reception at 5:30 PM in the foyer area, followed by short talks from the artists at 6:15 PM. The event is open to the public, so feel free to extend this invitation to others who may be interested.
About the artists:
Will Morin is of Ojibwa/Scottish and French-Canadian ancestry and is a member of the Michipicoten First Nation. He is an educator and a visual/performance artist living and working in Sudbury.
Quinn Hopkins (Mixed Ojibwe, non-status) is an interdisciplinary artist blending urban Indigenous experiences with digital futurism. His immersive installations and digital artworks explore ancestral storytelling, technological innovation and cultural resurgence.
