Join us monthly over the summer (June to August) for continued Elder Talk sessions, with Cultural Advisor Te ho wis kwûnt - Allen Doxtator.

Al originates from Oneida Nation of the Thames, and is a member of the Bear Clan.

Elder Talk sessions are an opportunity to learn from our Cultural Advisor and explore Indigenous worldviews, with a safe space to ask questions after each session. Please come with a good mind and a willingness to listen and learn to all parts of the sessions.

Sessions will be hybrid in MacCorry E202 + Zoom.

Guest Speaker: Maurice Switzer

Please join us in welcoming back Maurice Switzer, on Monday, October 28, at 1:30 pm for a talk on treaty rights and women's rights. 

The talk will take place in the Outdoor Indigenous Gathering Space.

Maurice Switzer, Bnesi, is a citizen of the Mississaugas of Alderville First Nation where his grandfather Moses Muskrat Marsden was Chief from 1905-07. Maurice served as communications director for the Assembly of First Nations and the Union of Ontario Indians, and in 2010 was honoured with an Anishinabek Nation Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions in public education and communications. The following year he authored "We are all Treaty People", a graphic novel of which over 15,000 copies have been distributed, primarily to schools across Ontario.

Fire on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Join us for Orange Shirt Day/the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation for a sacred fire on Agnes Benidickson Field. This event will include speeches from invited guests and a tobacco offering.
