The Office of the Vice Provost, Global Engagement congratulates and thanks the local WUSC Committee, the QUIC team, and all the Queen's community members that have been supporting students in collaboration with WUSC.

Today we are sharing a draft of our new Global Engagement Strategic Plan, informed by consultations with more than 400 faculty members, students, staff, community members, and global partners.

Indian Institute of Technology Roorke (India): Memorandum of Understanding (Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science)

Thank you to the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ottawa, DAAD Canada, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation), Goethe Institute, and the University of Konstanz for visiting Queen's University at the start of February! Queen's was visited by Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Canada, Her Excellency Sabine Sparwasser, and a small delegation of German Research Institutions.

Nine days have passed since a devastating earthquake and aftershocks brought suffering and destruction to parts of Türkiye and Syria. The magnitude of the disaster is very clear, but it remains difficult for many of us properly to absorb. Still more challenging is it to understand what action on our part is called for, what those of us remote from the immediate site can and should do to contribute to the relief effort.

On Friday, February 3, Queen's University was happy to welcome Minister Tokuro Furuya, Deputy Head of Mission, from the Embassy of Japan in Canada. This successful visit included discussions around Queen's-Japan collaborations, a productive lunch with LLCU at the University Club, and a public talk held in Stauffer Library titled Japan's Foreign Policy with a Focus on Relations with Canada.
