Hyman Xu is Queen's University's Undergraduate Admission Representative based in Shanghai.

Zhiyao Zhang

Zhiyao Zhang was born and raised in China and received his MA and PhD in Political Science at Jilin University. He taught at Jilin for a number of years and also served as the associate dean of political studies there for three years. Subsequently, he held visiting fellowships at universities in the U.S. and the U.K. before moving to Canada. He has taught at the Royal Military College of Canada and at Queen's.

Dr. Zhang received the Canadian Governor General’s Medallion for his promotion of Canadian education ties in China in October 2013; and in the year 2018, he received the “Magnolia Award” from Shanghai Municipal Government as a “recognition of his eminent contribution to Shanghai’s development and international cooperation.”


His responsibilities include seeking and promoting opportunities for academic and research collaboration with universities and government offices, recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students for degree programs at Queen’s, and maintaining links with Queen’s alumni.
