Why Study at Queen's?
Academic choice
Study Abroad students will have access to courses in participating departments within the Faculty of Arts and Science. The program is designed to offer broad academic choice, including curated academic pathways such as Global Politics & Society, Culture & Media, and Social Sciences & Humanities.
Students will be able to indicate up to 10 course preferences during the application process. Final course enrolment will be confirmed before the start of the semester.
Participating departments and course availability will be confirmed before applications open in January 2027.
A full-time, flexible academic model
Students will complete four or five courses (3 units per course) during the semester, representing a full-time academic load at Queen's. This flexible course load is designed to support academic success while giving students time to participate in campus life, explore Kingston, and experience Canadian culture beyond the classroom.
Before applying, students should consult their home institution to understand how Queen's courses and academic credit may transfer toward their degree.

Study in Kingston
Queen’s is located in Kingston, a historic and student-friendly city situated between Toronto, Montréal, and Ottawa.
The university campus is close to Kingston’s waterfront and downtown area, giving students access to cultural activities, restaurants, community events, outdoor spaces, and opportunities to experience life in Canada.

The Study Abroad program is being designed for undergraduate students who:
• Are currently enrolled at a recognized university outside Canada
• Have completed at least one year of undergraduate study before beginning the program
• Are in good academic standing (2.8 GPA requirement or equivalent)
• Meet the prerequisites for their intended Queen’s courses
• Meet Queen’s English-language requirements, where applicable
Final eligibility and admission requirements will be published before applications open.
Queen’s courses are generally valued at 3.0 units per one-term course. Study Abroad students will enroll in either four courses (12.0 units) or five courses (15.0 units) during the semester.
Course registration will depend on:
• Completion of required prerequisites
• Timetable compatibility
While students may indicate their preferred courses during the application process, admission to the Study Abroad program does not guarantee enrolment in every requested course. The International Programs Office will work with students to identify appropriate alternative course options where needed.
Study Abroad students will pay international tuition based on their Queen's course enrolment.

Accommodations
A limited number of residence spaces will be reserved for the first 10 Study Abroad students who accept their offer of admission. Students who are not eligible for residence will have access to information and resources to assist with securing off-campus accommodation in Kingston. Students should not make housing commitments until they have received final accommodation information from Queen's.

Applications for the anticipated Fall 2027 pilot are expected to open in January 2027.

- Proof of English-language proficiency (where required)
