Queen's University has recognized Professor David Bakhurst as a Distinguished University Professor, the university’s highest research-related honour. David has earned the title for his wide-ranging work in philosophy, from Soviet philosophy to the philosophy of psychology to the philosophy of education, and more. Congratulations, David!
This past term, Lisa Guenther taught a “Principal’s Dream Course” on Critical Perspectives on Social Diversity. The students collectively created a rich website, Our Critical Perspective, that brings together philosophical accounts of epistemic injustice, a focus on colonial structures and racial disparities in the carceral system, and attention to knowledge and justice in Ka’tarohkwi/Kingston.

Kerah Gordon-Solmon has organized a special discussion on COVID-19 on the site PEA (for Philosophy, Ethics, Academia) Soup. The discussion features philosophers Alec Walen, Sophia Moreau, and Christian Barry, and has provoked a lively conversation in the PEA Soup community.
As we all adapt to the realities of COVID-19, it is so important as philosophers to continue to think and imagine ideas in new ways.

PhD student Rogney Piedra Arencibia has won a prestigious Vanier Scholarship to support his research for the next three years. This is only the latest of Rogney's achievements -- he has multiple publications, including the book Marxism and the Dialectics of Nature (in Spanish), which is in its second edition.
Sergio Sismondo is an advisor on a podcast series for Cited Podcast, which generally covers issues about science in the public interest, and is focusing on stories relevant to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Journal Citation Reports ranked the journal Social Studies of Science, edited by Sergio Sismondo, first in its category, History and Philosophy of Science. The journal's 'impact factor', a measure of how often its articles are cited, jumped this year to 4.038, considerably higher than the next-ranked journal in the category.
