Who can consume cannabis: 

  • One must be at least 19 years old in Canada to purchase, possess, or consume cannabis.

  • It is an offence under the Code and federal/provincial law to provide cannabis to someone under the age of 19.

  • Under the Student Code of Conduct, a person must knowingly consent to consuming cannabis. It is a violation to provide a person cannabis without their consent (for example, in an edible).

  • It is a violation of the Student Athlete Guidelines of Behaviour to consume cannabis while in season.

What are your responsibilities: 

  • Students are responsible for the secure storage of their cannabis (please consult video for more information). 

  • Students who use cannabis for medical reasons should confer with Student Wellness Services regarding an accommodation plan.
