In celebration of Black History and Futures Month, Yellow House invites Black-identifying peoples to enjoy a screening of American Fiction (2023) featuring Jeffrey Wright, Sterling K. Brown, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Issa Rae and directed by Cord Jefferson.
American Fiction is a comedy-drama based on the 2001 novel Erasure by Percival Everett. A frustrated novelist-professor writes an outlandish satire of stereotypical "Black" books, only for it to be mistaken for serious literature by the liberal elite and published to critical praise and high profits.
