Indigenous demonstrators from Grassy Narrows First Nation (Asubpeeschoseewagong Netum Anishinabek) protest mercury poisoning by Dryden Pulp and Paper Ltd. on the front steps of the Queen’s Park Provincial Legislature in 1975. The photograph was initially published on the front cover of an 1976 report by the Ontario Public Interest Research Group titled “Quicksilver & Slow Death: a study of mercury pollution in northwestern Ontario.”
