OBW Summer Language Program Application Deadline

Location

The Ontario/Baden-Württemberg (OBW) International Lake Constance Summer School, or Internationale Bodensee Hochschule (IBH), is a four-week summer program. It is hosted at the University of Konstanz in the Baden-Württemberg region of Germany. Students from around the world congregate to learn and discuss the cultures of German-speaking countries that surround Lake Constance. These include Austria, Germany, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. Along with intriguing classroom experiences, IBH promises engaging extracurricular activities and regional excursions.

Applications are due by 4pm on Friday 16 January, 2024.

ORA Summer Language Program Application Deadline

The Ontario/Rhône-Alpes (ORA) Summer Language Program (SLP) is a short-term study abroad option. It is designed for full-time degree students interested in exploring French culture and improving their French language skills. Designed for non-French speakers, it offers a unique, excellent and highly enjoyable learning experience in the classroom. The program includes an extracurricular program as well as excursions to places of interest in the region.

 Applications are now open and will close Friday, 16 February, 2024 by 4pm

Killam Fellowships Program Deadline for 2024-2025

Location

The Killam Fellowships Program provides an opportunity for exceptional undergraduate students from universities in Canada and the United States to spend either one semester or a full academic year as an exchange student in the other country. Students may participate in the program either as a direct exchange student (registering at their home university, paying their home fees, and attending the host university as an exchange visitor) or as a self-placed visiting student (applying for and registering at the host university, and paying host tuition fees).

International Exchange Fair

There is no better way to begin your research and heighten your excitement about studying abroad than attending the famous International Exchange Fair. 

Every year, the International Programs Office, host this Faculty of Arts & Science Exchange Fair so you can learn about our 100+ exchange universities in over 30 countries around the world and network with your peers about their exchange experience. Please find the event details below:

Due to high demand, we are staggering entry times. Please register for a FREE ticket to the exchange fair by clicking one of the time slots below. There are a set number of tickets per time slot. If the registration form is closed, please choose another time.

How will this work?
Similar to other fairs at Queen's, you will be able to walk table to table to learn more about our partner institutions. The tables will be hosted by returned exchange students and students who are currently on exchange at Queen's from our partner universities. 

Please note that  we may not have representation at the Fair from all our exchange partners.

What is Exchange 101? Simply put: in 1.5 hours, IPO staff and student volunteers outline the nuts and bolts of putting together an international Arts and Science experience.

Topics to be discussed include: eligibility requirements, how exchange works, the various types of exchange programs, financing exchange, applying to an exchange program, and the experience of studying abroad itself. Discussion and questions are encouraged.

Did you know: second year Art Sci students applying to go on our exchange program in their third year are given preference in our system? Your third year is the time when most Arts and Science students will have the most flexibility in their degree and where people find the most success transferring back credits. First years are welcome to attend, however, please note that you must be in your second year of study to apply to our exchange programs.
