Global Career Seminar - Canada

Information about the 2024 session has now been updated.

Program Period

Pre-lecture Period (Online Individual Lecture Series): 4 November 2023 - 26 January 2024
Intensive Lecture Period (Group Work Series in Toronto): 19-24 February 2024

In this program students from Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) and the four Canadian partner universities are placed into groups. Representatives from corporations pose specific business problems, and then student groups analyze and propose solutions for these problems.

This is a great opportunity to build intercultural awareness, gain insight into major corporations and the issues they are tackling. There is also the potential to make international and business connections, particularly for students with non-Business backgrounds.

Learning Sessions

Pre-Seminar Sessions (Online)

12 Pre-lectures (synchronous, asynchronous, and on-demand).

During this period of the program you will be introduced to the course and to the companies, be placed into groups and start team building, and complete individual research and assignments.

Applicants must attend all the Pre-Seminar Sessions and submit the assignments as stated in the course syllabus.

Synchronous sessions will typically be held 6:00pm - 9:00pm Ontario time.

Joint Sessions (conducted in-person at the St. George Campus of University of Toronto)

Monday, February 19, 2024 - Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario (during Reading Week!). During this intensive period of the program, you will conduct a SWOT and look at the business model for your assigned company.
