Queen's Mathematics Summer School

The Queen's Mathematics Summer School is open to undergraduate and Masters students who are interested in spending one week learning exciting, cutting-edge mathematics on the beautiful campus of Queen's University by the shores of Lake Ontario. There will be three courses, each with 9 hours of lecture time over the week.
2026 Mathematical Modeling & Dynamics with Delay
June 10-12, 2026
This workshop brought together researchers working on the theory, computation, and applications of delay equations and related systems. The goal was to exchange ideas, present recent advances, and explore emerging directions. The workshop was held in honour of the 60th birthday of Professor Tony Humphries (McGill University) who has played a central role in the field of DDEs. His leadership has also extended to the support and mentorship of many early-career researchers.
2025 Queen's University Workshop on Mathematical Ecology
July 24-25, 2025
The theme of the 2025 Queen's University Workshop on Mathematical Ecology was Phylodynamics. Phylodynamics is the study of the processes that give rise to phylogenetic trees. This is a rapidly growing field fueled by the growth of genomic surveillance data. This workshop brought together researchers working in the following areas:
- Stochastic models of disease spread and evolution
- Perspectives from public health
- Computational phylogenetics and statistical inference
2024 Canadian Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Canadian Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics (CAIMS 2024) was hosted by Queen’s University. Each year CAIMS/SCMAI hosts an annual meeting for all members. This meeting is one of the central activities of CAIMS and has been held for over 30 years. The annual meeting covers all areas of applied and industrial mathematics with high profile speakers invited to give keynote addresses on currently active thematic areas.
